
Robert MacGill is a Senior Mechanical Engineering Associate at the
Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory of the University of California,
Berkeley. His work supports research carried out within the Plasma Applications
Group as well as more broadly in the Accelerator and Fusion Research Division.
He has developed novel approaches to the design and fabrication of radio-frequency
quadrupole (RFQ) accelerator systems, ion sources, plasma diagnostics,
and other plasma and ion beam hardware, and has made important contributions
to bringing these devices into practical application. His work has led
to several R&D100 awards and a number of patents.
