The Plasma Applications Group is part of the Ion Beam Technology Program in the Accelerator and Fusion Research Division.  We develop and plasma and ion sources and apply them to a wide range of material issues.  They include specialty coatings for accelerators but go far beyond this field.  We closely collaborate with other Divisions, and especially with the Environmental Energy Technologies Division in the development of materials and coating processes for energy-efficient windows.  Our work can also be applied anywhere where special films or surfaces are needed.

It is a long tradition that we host many Visiting Scientists form all over the world.  We are happy to have long-term collaborations with groups and individuals from Russia, Australia, Germany, Belgium, England, and others.

We invite you to browse through our site exploring scientific topics and technical approaches.  Visit our site to learn about the people behind interesting innovations, and feel free to request free copies of publications.
